Multidrop link
32 station RS485 multi-drop link via 5 or 6 wire
connections.
Easy connection to computer's serial
Inexpensive RS232/RS485 converter allows for easy connection
to the computers serial port. (Available as a separate item.)
Reach of link
Link can be up to 4000 or 1200m long. For longer
distances, a digital repeater can be used.
Station independence
Each station is optically isolated to 2500 volts.
Three
powering modes supported
Two individual power supplies to each station. Full
optoisolation.
One external power supply per station via the computer link. Full
optoisolation.
Power
provided via the computer link only.
Broadcasting
capability
Triple mode broadcasting capability.
Optoisolation
circuit voltage
2500 volts optoisolation circuit.
Assistance |
On-line Help command.
Available lines |
32 TTL compatible lines per station (42 if there is only one
station in the network) independently configurable as inputs or outputs.
Ease of connection to lines
Phone jacks (RJ11/12) and terminal strip pads on board for
easy hook up to a variety of link wire sizes.
Line protection
All power lines are reverse polarity protected by diodes in
series.
PWM
Two independent 10-10,000 Hz, 0-100% duty cycle Pulse Width
Modulation channels.
Interrupt lines
High and Low interrupt lines (edge sensitive) available when
the station is active.
Baud rate
Baud rate configurable, via software, from 300 baud up to
115200 baud.
Resistance, conductance & capacitance
reading
Eight channels for reading relative resistance, fluid
conductance or capacitance.
Stepper motors
Four stepper motor ports with all the necessary logic
embedded to facilitate monophasic, biphasic and half-step modes.
Repeat ease
Single "Again" command allows repeat of previous
command at a fast rate.
Easy access to active configuration
A configurable status feature which sends the active
configuration of any parallel port, stepper motor port, or the PWM back to the terminal.
Analog-to-digital channels
Eleven channel analog-to-digital converter with either 8, 10
or 12 bit resolution is available.
Hardware &
software
Associated hardware and software development is easy and
cost effective.
Ease of access
to functions
All functions can be called by means of simple ASCII
commands.
Low cost per
station due to:
Intrinsic low cost of the units.
No need for "on-board" programming thus allowing
for very low costs associated with software development.
The set of functions
embedded in the ITC232-A IC drastically reduces associated hardware. As
an example, an excellent precision liquid level measurement system based
on conductivity can be implemented with the addition of only two 4066
IC's, an inverter (4069 )or transistor and a capacitor. The use of the
ITC232-A also brings in the well known simplicity advantage this chip
offers.
